Management Committee

The Management Committee is composed of the CEO, who chairs the Management Committee, and the other members of the Management Committee. Such other members are appointed and removed by the Board of Directors upon advice of the CEO and the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.

The Management Committee exercises the duties assigned to it by the CEO, under the ultimate supervision of the Board of Directors. It does not constitute an executive committee (“directiecomité” / “comité de direction”) within the meaning of Article 524bis of the Belgian Companies Code. The Management Committee is an informal executive committee within the meaning of Article 96§3 of the Belgian Companies Code.

The Company's Management Committee consists of the following members:

Cyrille Ragoucy has more than 25 years’ experience in senior management positions. His last operational position, before becoming interim CEO of Balta, was as CEO of Tarmac Ltd (originally Lafarge Tarmac), a leading building materials and construction solutions firm in the UK, where he oversaw the creation of the joint venture between Lafarge SA and Anglo American as well as the integration of several acquisitions, before the entity was purchased by CRH, a large Irish construction firm in August 2015. From 1998 to 2012, Mr. Ragoucy was with Lafarge, serving as CEO of Lafarge Shui On Cement, a Chinese joint venture between Lafarge and Shui On, and CEO of Lafarge Construction Materials for Eastern Canada, among other director and executive-level posts. Currently he is also non-executive chairman of Chryso Group and non-executive director of SIG plc.
Mr. Ragoucy holds a Master of Management from the University of Paris IX (Dauphine), France.

Jan-Christian Werner started in Balta in February 2019 as Head of Group Controlling & Reporting and was appointed Chief Financial Officer on 3 July 2019. Jan-Christian has extensive experience in Financial Controllership, Corporate Finance and M&A at international stock market listed companies. Before joining Balta, Jan-Christian was Head of the Finance organization for the EMEA region at Orion Engineered Carbons for five years and afterwards spent one year as acting CFO of AvesOne AG, a listed Investment holding company.

Charlotte Veys is the Human Resources Director for Balta Group nv. She started her career at the Balta Group in 2010, where she held various HR functions and was Compensation & Benefits manager until March 2022. Charlotte holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Leuven University.

Emmanuel Rigaux joined Balta in 2019 as Chief Transformation Officer, before assuming the role of Managing Director Residential & Commercial Europe in 2021. Emmanuel has held various leadership positions at LafargeHolcim, most recently as Head of West & Central Africa. During his time at LafargeHolcim, Emmanuel has gained extensive experience in leading transformation programs. Before his time at LafargeHolcim, Emmanuel started his career with the Boston Consulting Group.

Jay Brown, a seasoned industry executive who joined Bentley Mills as Vice President of Operations in 2020, took the helm of Bentley as President and Chief Operating Officer in May 2022. He previously held various leadership positions at Interface, a global leader in modular flooring and at Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS). Jay has 33 years of Operations and Sales experience. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn and a Juris Doctorate from Faulkner University.
